giraffe-in-a-tree:

The maned wolf of South America is also known as the ‘fox on stilts’. Exactly why he’s called these things rather flummoxes our hairy lanky friend as he is neither fox nor wolf. Of course one could point out how much he does look like a long-legged fox and indeed a wolf in a ruff, but he won’t have any of it.
